The Doxie scanner provides an immediate benefit to any customer using ServiceM8 to manage their day-to-day business operations. In less than 30 seconds you can capture any document and store it directly into ServiceM8. No file saving, no drives, no backups. We call it scan-and-forget technology.
Scanning is made easy for the user, first they insert the document into the scanner, as the paper is feeding in they will be prompted by a screen to allocate the document to either a client; (Account sign-offs, OH&S procedures, SLA agreements) or to a specific job (quote diagrams, product warranties, compliance records, receipts or faxed work orders ). The scanner ensures that documents are never ‘lost’ – in fact, we see one of the potential uses of the scanner system as a disaster recovery tool for small business. With so many businesses suffering catastrophic damage from recent floods, fires and earthquakes, recovery of important documents in an instant search is crucial in getting businesses back on track. By saving the records to the job or client you will be able to retrieve them in a specifically targeted way.
ServiceM8 stores all these important records on Amazon Cloud giving business the comfort in knowing their documents are safe. Any scanned documents are immediately available through the customer record or job diary – at different offices, or on the go through the iPhone app. This means documents can be shared with field staff or with colleagues interstate or overseas very quickly where it may be urgently required.

Hi Stacey,
No they can’t unfortunately, they are scanned as images and so great for archival purposes only. You could always sign the document prior to scanning (or sign and re-scan depending on how the document is being used) and both copies could be stored within the job.

Ben
